My clients struggle as you do, despite being determined, loyal, and high achievers.
When they first come in, they usually find themselves snapping at their family and feeling guilty for all their mixed feelings in postpartum.
Their emotions can feel out of control or just not like themselves. The pressure and responsibility of being a good mom weighing on them with every decision.
They feel guilt for wanting a break from their baby since they have wanted a child for so long.
Feeling anxious if someone else takes care of their baby.
They may have had some anxiety here and there throughout their lives, though since becoming a mom it feels out of their control and say, they “just don’t feel like themselves” anymore.
- from how they react to others, how they feel about their bodies, & missing aspects of their “old life”.
Their anger, sadness, and stress in postpartum are getting in the way of being the mom they wanted to be in so many ways.
They aren’t the kind of mom and partner they want to be.
They feel like they are the only one failing at this whole motherhood thing.
And their confidence in being a good mom is slipping away as each day passes.
Being a good mom to them meant doing it all and they would take on more, while putting themselves last. Because it felt easier than asking for help and they felt like they “should” be able to handle this.
Before they came to see me, they were nervous about sharing the thoughts and feelings they were having in postpartum.
Maybe thoughts they haven’t shared with anyone else out of fear of being judged.
They were pretty certain they were a bad mom for feeling sad, anxious, and angry.
For not enjoying motherhood as much as they thought and it feeling harder than they expected leading to more guilt and shame.
Feeling less overwhelmed by the mental load of motherhood is not out of reach.
If you want to feel more like yourself and not consumed by motherhood and all things postpartum, I’d love to help you get there.
Like my clients, you deserve to feel more calm, relaxed, and confident as a mom.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. My practice focuses specifically on perinatal mental health, which includes support for postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, intrusive thoughts, birth trauma, and identity changes during the transition to motherhood. Many of the moms I work with appear high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed internally. Therapy provides a supportive space to understand what’s happening and learn practical tools for relief.
-
Intrusive thoughts are unwanted thoughts or images that can feel scary or disturbing. Many new moms experience thoughts about accidental harm coming to their baby or fear that they might do something wrong.
These thoughts are actually very common during the postpartum period, especially when anxiety is high. Having intrusive thoughts does not mean you want them to happen or that you are a bad mom. In therapy, we work on understanding why these thoughts occur and learning strategies to reduce the anxiety cycle that keeps them going.

It can be helpful to seek therapy anytime you notice that anxiety, overwhelm, sadness, or intrusive thoughts are affecting your daily life or your ability to enjoy this season of motherhood.
Some moms begin therapy during pregnancy, while others reach out weeks or months after their baby arrives. There is no “too early” or “too late” time to get support.
Many women find that addressing postpartum mental health concerns early can help them feel more confident, calm, and connected to their family.
-
Postpartum therapy typically focuses on helping you understand the patterns contributing to anxiety or overwhelm and learning practical tools to support your nervous system and emotional wellbeing.
In our work together, we focus on both emotional support and practical strategies so that you leave sessions with tools you can begin using right away.
